The Residential Energy Rating team is looking for software developers and specialists to join our growing team.
The Opportunity
We are looking to fill a Full Stack .NET Developer role contributing to the development and enhancement of the FirstRate5 (FR5) web portal and related cloud applications. FR5 is one of Australia's accredited tools under the Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), used by Thermal Performance Assessors (TPAs) to simulate and compare residential heating and cooling energy demands, producing certificates for National Construction Code (NCC) compliance.
The FR5 Web Portal is built on .NET Framework 4.8 using ASP.NET MVC / Web API and integrates with Sitefinity CMS. Over time, we are modernising and refactoring the solution to reduce dependencies on Sitefinity, moving toward a clean, domain-driven architecture where the application can run independently if required.
The role involves delivering new features while also contributing to ongoing refactoring and architectural separation efforts. You'll work with MVC (Model-View-Controller) controllers, APIs, and Vue.js components to deliver modern, maintainable solutions.
You'll also contribute to .NET 8 Azure Functions apps in the FR5 ecosystem. While the role is primarily focused on the FR5 .NET web applications, it will also provide primary development support for the Whole of Home (WoH) Node.js application when required, focusing on stabilisation, defect resolution, and incremental improvements while supporting the transition away from the application.
This position is ideal for a motivated developer with a strong grounding in C#, MVC, and web development best practices who is eager to grow their skills in Clean Architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and frontend development while contributing to a nationally significant software product that impacts energy efficiency across Australia.
This role is delivery-focused across modern web technologies, contributing to platform evolution within established architecture and under senior technical direction.
