Make a real difference on Country
Join DEECA as a Forest and Fire Operations Officer – Field Team Leader and help care for Victoria’s forests, parks and public land. Based in the Mallee, this is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to work that supports Country, communities and emergency response, while leading a team in practical, hands-on outdoor operations.
In this role, you’ll be part of a WorkCentre team delivering a wide range of forest management, fire prevention and land management activities. From maintaining roads and tracks to operating equipment and supporting planned burns and emergency response, no two days are the same. Much of the work takes place outdoors and in remote bush settings, so it’s a role well suited to someone who enjoys working on Country, leading others and being part of a strong, supportive team.
This position has a strong emergency management focus. It’s an active role that requires a high level of fitness, resilience and a willingness to work in challenging environments.
This is a designated position under section 12 of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
