About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a suitably experienced Dietitian to provide expert leadership and support to our Food Services department. This is a unique opportunity to apply your dietetic expertise in food service systems, service improvement, and stakeholder collaboration.
In this role, you will:
- Provide leadership and advocacy for nutrition within the food service environment
- Translate nutrition specifications, accreditation standards, and guidelines into practical application across SWH sites
- Contribute to strategic planning and service redesign, particularly during a period of redevelopment and change
- Support the implementation of nutrition-related projects and improvements
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across clinical, food service, and executive teams
Position overview
- Employment Type: Part-time (40 hours per fortnight), Fixed term position until May 2026
- Location: Warrnambool Campus
- Classification: Dietitian Grade 3
- Salary Range: $106,386.80 - $123,905.60 pro rata, plus superannuation
What you bring
- A university qualification in Dietetics that meets the accreditation guidelines of Dietitians Australia Eligibility for (or current) Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status
- Preferable previous experience in food service, including supervision of food service students
- Understanding of DH guidelines for provision of meals to Hospital and nursing home patients/ residents
- Experience in implementing quality and strategic plans and projects
- Preferable experience in Nursing Home resident care
- Experience providing mentoring, supervision of other staff
- Proven ability to lead, and work with other teams, providing expert judgement and advice on nutrition food service issues
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with others to improve delivery of care
- Ability to work collaboratively and in partnership with other team members and stakeholders, building positive relationships.
- High level organisational, communication and planning skills
- Demonstrated willingness to develop programs, and evidence of ability to achieve outcomes
