An exciting opportunity exists to join the DEECA Water and Catchments FloodZoom Team. The Spatial Data Analyst will support the FloodZoom team in maintaining and improving the FloodZoom platform. The role will help ensure the quality and consistency of spatial data managed in the platform; and support the sharing of spatial data with stakeholders.
The role will require the successful candidate to use their knowledge of spatial data and system to ensure the FloodZoom platform is meeting the expectations of its users, the department and other stakeholders/agencies. In doing so, the role will enable DEECA to fulfill its obligations under the State Emergency Management Plan (SEMP) as a participating agency for flood emergency planning, including readiness and flood/data intelligence and mapping.
The role allows the candidate to utilise a mix of spatial technical skills in manipulating and validating spatial data, working with a range of stakeholders to understand their spatial needs, and supporting the team in delivering enhancements to the FloodZoom Platform. The role also has an expectation that the candidate be available to support the 24-hour 7 day a week emergency role of FloodZoom Support Officer and assist in the delivery of the VICSES Standard Operating Procedure (009) ‘FloodZoom Support Activation'.
