ROLE SUMMARY:
To support VICSES's commitment to ensuring fleet assets are safe and serviceable, this role is responsible for the development and implementation of the ongoing Heavy Rescue Truck (HRT) inspection program. This includes developing inspection program schedule, undertaking inspections at various VICSES locations including arranging access, completing inspection reports, and monitoring outcomes, including reviewing previous inspection findings to identify trends, changes, or emerging risks.
The position also supports the Fleet Maintenance Lead by providing inspection and audit outcomes, maintenance observations, and assurance information to inform maintenance activities, rectification planning, and ongoing fleet monitoring, reinforcing VICSES' value that safety drives our decisions.
The role supports the identification and management of maintenance, safety, and compliance issues and contributes to continuous improvement in fleet safety and asset management practices. The position works closely with the Fleet Maintenance Lead and broader Fleet Maintenance team to support maintenance planning, rectification activities, and ongoing fleet monitoring.
In addition, the role contributes to the development of broader inspection and assurance frameworks across fleet assets and supports the management and escalation of compliance-related issues to ensure assets remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.

As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
