ROLE SUMMARY:
The Fleet Maintenance Lead provides leadership within the Fleet portfolio of the Fleet, Equipment and Clothing team and is responsible for coordinating and delivering planned and unplanned maintenance across the VICSES fleet. Leading a team of Fleet Maintenance Officers, the role ensures maintenance requests are promptly triaged, prioritised, and progressed, with clear and timely communication provided to members and stakeholders.
The Fleet Maintenance Lead maintains oversight of all fleet maintenance activity, including tracking offline vehicles, monitoring repair progress, and ensuring maintenance activities and vehicle availability are actively managed and communicated to units and internal stakeholders. The role analyses maintenance data and performance trends to identify recurring issues, capacity risks, and efficiency improvement opportunities, preparing reports and providing insights to support informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and forward planning.
The position participates in the Asset Duty Officer (ADO) roster, providing after-hours on-call support to VICSES members in relation to fleet, equipment, or facilities breakdowns and asset-related incidents, in accordance with established procedures. While not an operational role, the position may be required to participate in rostered arrangements during periods of declared operations to support operational activity, in line with organisational requirements.

We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.
As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
