ROLE SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Senior Fleet Design and Technical Lead, the role supports the development of new fleet designs, amendments to existing designs, and corrective actions arising from build issues, in-service performance, or safety investigations. The position assists in ensuring fleet designs, modifications and deviations are technically sound, fit-for-purpose, and compliant with applicable legislative, regulatory, and industry requirements.
The Fleet Design Engineer supports fleet quality assurance activities, including development of quality assurance documentation and undertaking QA inspections for fleet assets design verification, and maintenance of design version control. The role also assists in the controlled distribution of approved design documentation to the Rescue Vehicle Build Panel, supporting consistent and compliant fleet builds.
The role requires some travel which may include overnight stays. At times, this role will also be required to work outside normal business hours and on weekends to attend various workshops and taskforces.

We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
