About the Role
CFA is seeking a Financial Controller to lead our financial accounting function and ensure the integrity, accuracy and compliance of our financial reporting. This is a key leadership role that works closely with executive leaders, government partners and regulators. It's an opportunity to guide a high-profile public organisation that operates with purpose and community impact at its core.
In this role, you will provide authoritative advice on financial reporting, manage the application of AASB standards and Financial Reporting Directions and lead the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements. You'll deliver insightful analysis to inform strategic decision-making, strengthen financial controls, oversee treasury management and resolve complex accounting matters across the organisation.
You will lead the Financial Reporting team, setting clear direction, building capability and fostering a culture aligned to CFA's values. You'll ensure strong performance, effective planning, sound budgeting and consistent, high-quality service delivery. Collaboration is essential, working across CFA to support strategic outcomes and coordinating with other finance leaders to provide seamless support.
We're looking for a senior financial professional with strong technical expertise, exceptional judgement, and proven leadership experience in complex environments. CA or CPA qualification is critical, along with deep knowledge of AASB standards and public-sector reporting.
