Network Design and Integration delivers transport priorities through the planning, development and maintenance of an integrated pipeline of projects and strategic initiatives that provide safe, efficient and sustainable outcomes to all Victorians
The Future Public Transport Ticketing (FPTT) System will ensure Victoria has a ticketing system that is fit for
purpose for 15 years and beyond to meet customers’ expectations and the challenges of the transport network,
while facilitating the efficient collection of fare revenues and unlocking potential benefits.
The FPTT system will replace the existing Myki system with Account Based Ticketing (ABT), where customer
information is stored in a centralised back office system. ABT will enable greater travel choice for customers as
well as flexibility to implement fare and policy changes quickly and to introduce new products. The FPTT system
will be rolled out progressively.
About the role
This is a Full TIME FIXED TERM position until 26/02/2027
The Finance Systems Specialist role will be responsible for the financial aspects of the ABT system and services,
as part of a multi-disciplinary group of technical subject matter experts (SMEs) reporting to the PTT Technical
Lead. This role will be required to coordinate and manage technical reviews of finance related solutions and
services to ensure the systems comply with PTT Agreement executed between DTP and the PTT Supplier. The
purview of this role also includes closely related activities for the ABT banking services as well as supporting
testing, change, training, trials and operational readiness within the finance systems and services domain.
The Finance System Specialist reports to the Technical Director.
Position accountabilities
• Conducted reviews to ensure the ticketing system financial subsystem designs; interfaces; and
financial management service designs met compliance, regulatory and contracted requirements.
• Contributed to the analysis, design and test of the solution reporting capabilities, including identifying
and working with appropriate business stakeholders to ensure the solution met the contracted
requirements.
• Drove cross-functional collaboration with Finance teams to ensure alignment of the solution with
broader business and operational needs.
• Supported decision making process and facilitated endorsement from Senior Finance stakeholders.
• Facilitated workshops to drive consensus and approvals for the non-myki regional farebox
apportionment rules for the ticketing system implementation.
• Collaborated with stakeholders to refine and validate farebox apportionment methodologies.
• Developed test scripts and conducted finance related user testing, state-side readiness verification,
and supplier-side operational readiness verification.
• Contributed to change impact assessments, training needs analysis and change implementation for
DTP Finance stakeholders as part of the broader state-side readiness activities.
• Completed finance activities for OP Regional Trials.
• Ensured upstream and downstream financial systems and specifications (such as with banking
services and card schemes) were delivered in alignment with the State’s obligations.

Technical Capabilities
Finance Systems Design and Integration
Demonstrated experience reviewing and validating finance system designs, interfaces, and integrations to ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual, and organisational requirements.
Financial Reporting and Testing
Proven capability in analysing, designing, and testing finance reporting solutions, including development and execution of finance related test scripts and operational readiness activities.
Finance Stakeholder Engagement
Strong experience engaging Finance stakeholders to support finance-related decision making and approvals in complex projects.
Qualifications and experience
Desirable
-A relevant tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, economics, business management or related discipline. Strong, working knowledge of key processes involved in government financial accounting and standards
