The opportunity
The Finance Partner plays a key role in supporting the Finance Partnering Team within a fast-paced environment. You'll work closely with executives and managers to build trusted relationships and develop a clear understanding of VicGrid's financial landscape from transactions to resourcing needs. In this role, you'll contribute to smooth financial operations by assisting with accounts payable and receivable, maintaining the general ledger, and supporting project accounting activities that keep our major initiatives on track.
What you will deliver
- Provide financial insights and advice that help executives and project teams make strategic decisions.
- Manage day-to-day project accounting, ensuring accurate cost allocation and reporting across multiple initiatives.
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger through proactive reconciliation, analysis, and process improvement.
- Support budget monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to ensure alignment with Victorian Government frameworks.
- Collaborate across Finance and business units to resolve accounting issues and continuously enhance financial processes.
What you will bring
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Business that underpins your technical capability.
- Progress toward (or completion of) a professional accounting qualification such as CPA or CA, demonstrating your commitment to continuous growth.
- Experience in financial analysis; you can interpret numbers, uncover insights, and communicate them clearly to influence decision-making.
- Strong understanding of general ledger management, reconciliations, and end-to-end financial processes, with a sharp eye for accuracy and improvement opportunities.
- A collaborative mindset - you enjoy partnering with teams across the business, supporting projects, and helping others understand the financial story behind their work.
