About VHBA
The Victorian Health Building Authority (VHBA) is responsible for the rollout of the Victorian Government's multi-billion-dollar health capital projects. We're delivering world-class health facilities across Victoria including new public hospitals and emergency care, community health services, ambulance branches, residential aged care and mental health facilities. VHBA also provides technical support across engineering, property, asset management and environmental sustainability disciplines.
The Opportunity
This position will be instrumental in supporting VHBA’s project teams to help create seamless processes to ensure precise transaction processing, prompt financial reporting, and insightful financial analysis. The Finance Business Partner will have a dedicated portfolio, creating tailored financial support to assist the projects with their financial position which includes clarifying budgetary implications and drive solutions focused financial advice.
Key aspects of the role include:
Offer coaching and strategic financial guidance to executives and senior leaders on performance management, forecasting, budgeting, cost control, capitalisation, and funding needs.
Partner with teams, directors, and managers to resolve financial issues, assess budget impacts, and guide decisions with timely insights, ensuring compliance with legislation, the VPS Agreement, and relevant financial policies.
Leverage financial data and analytics to develop evidence-based reports, briefings, and business cases for executives and senior leaders.
We are looking for:
Proven experience delivering strategic financial advice to executives and senior leaders across areas such as forecasting, budgeting, capital planning, cost control, and project financial performance.
Demonstrated experience in applying financial legislation, public sector frameworks, government policies, and enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle, DTF frameworks) to support strategic decision-making.
Extensive experience leading, coaching, and developing finance professionals to drive high performance and continuous improvement.
