As part of a Department of Health initiative to return public pathology to public hospitals and ensure consistent, accessible services for all Victorians, Austin Health Pathology (AHP) will begin providing pathology services to Bendigo Health in December 2025.
Over the past five years, AHP has successfully integrated services across regional Victoria, with laboratories in Shepparton, Mildura, Echuca, and Swan Hill, and an extensive point-of-care and collection network supporting communities such as Castlemaine, Kerang, Kyneton, Seymour, Cohuna, and Kyabram. These transitions have created sustainable employment opportunities, offering regional staff secure roles with access to training, education, and career development.
We are now seeking expressions of interest for several roles (see below) in the Bendigo region to support this partnership with Bendigo Health— a leading regional service with over 5,000 staff and volunteers, serving a catchment covering a quarter of Victoria. This growing Health Service offers the benefits of city infrastructure within a regional lifestyle.
It’s an incredible opportunity to contribute to a key health initiative and support high-quality pathology services for the Bendigo community. Recruitment for a Laboratory Manager will commence shortly, and advertising for all other roles will commence in the coming weeks (with intakes for these roles scheduled for September and early December 2025).
