About the Business Unit:
The Corrections and Justice Services (CJS) group, comprising Corrections Victoria, Justice Health and Justice Services, plays an integral role in developing safer and more resilient communities and in delivering a trusted justice and community safety system.
Corrections Victoria is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Corrections Victoria also sets strategy, policy and standards for the management of the state's system of correctional facilities whilst also developing programs for the management and rehabilitation of prisoners and the community-based supervision of offenders.
As part of the CJS group, the DPFC is a 688-bed maximum-security facility for female offenders located within the West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety.
About the Role:
The Executive Assistant is a key role within the General Manager's office at the DPFC and is responsible for preparing correspondence on behalf of the General Manager, collating documents to respond to various issues and requests, providing advice for the preparation of briefings, assist the Performance and Planning team, and manage the compilation of monthly reporting requirements for the Executive.
The role will involve a high level of stakeholder management and strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
This position will require direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.
