About the role:
The Executive Director, Ambulance, Emergency Care and Access is responsible for leading, overseeing and monitoring efforts to support the delivery of timely emergency care. The role also has a key focus on improving flow across the entire healthcare system and is responsible for managing the department's relationship with Ambulance Victoria and health services with respect to access to emergency care.
Reporting directly to the Deputy Secretary, the successful candidate has close working relationships with the Secretary of the department and the Minister for Health and Minister for Ambulance Services. The Executive Director will also be expected to lead a group of enabling functions to deliver on the division's strategic priorities. These relate to people and culture, ways of working, and internal performance and insights.
The role will engage with colleagues across the division and department, as well as stakeholders and experts within and beyond government, including service providers, the workforce, consumers and carers throughout policy development and problem solving.
