Executive Director, Aboriginal Economic Development
The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking to appoint an Executive Director, Aboriginal Economic Development to join its team. This role involves leading the Aboriginal Economic Development branch to drive implementation of the Yuma Yirramboi Strategy as the Victorian Government and Aboriginal Victorians' shared vision to generate greater individual and collective wealth for Aboriginal Victorians.
The Aboriginal Economic Development branch leads work across the department to support Aboriginal self-determination through employment and economic development.
Reporting to the Deputy Secretary, Economic Policy, Programs and Services, the Executive Director, Aboriginal Economic Development will drive the effective, efficient and timely delivery of projects and initiatives supporting Aboriginal economic development outcomes in a complex and sensitive operational environment.
The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with extensive executive program management experience and an outstanding track record in delivery of innovative and complex programs with demonstrable benefits for Victorian Aboriginal businesses and communities.
This is a prioritised position for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in accordance with the special measures provision of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (VIC).
