The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Executive Assistant, to provide a critical role within Office of the Solicitor-General.
About the Business Unit
The Solicitor-General is the Government's most senior professional legal advocate and advisor. The Solicitor-General provides advice to the Government on constitutional and other significant legal matters. The Solicitor-General also appears in court in all jurisdictions as senior counsel in significant cases where the Government is a party or is intervening.
The Office consists of the Solicitor-General, two Counsel Assisting the Solicitor-General, and the Executive Assistant. The Executive Assistant provides key support to the Solicitor-General to ensure the smooth running of the Office. As the Records Management Contact Officer for the office, the appointee will be responsible for and support good recordkeeping practices within the Office of the Solicitor-General.
About the Role
This role is located in barristers' chambers. The appointee may need to adjust hours of work at short notice to respond to emerging needs and to fit in with the Solicitor-General's timetable and the needs of the Office.
