The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The School Education Programs and Support Group (SEPS) has lead responsibility to shape the schooling system to provide every student with knowledge and capabilities and to ensure it fosters development and wellbeing, that equips children and young people for the changing world in which they live.
SEPS operates within a complex environment shaped by legislative requirements, government policies and stakeholder expectations, navigating competing priorities, funding and resource constraints, and accountability measures. SEPS leads a diverse range of responsibilities which include:
In close collaboration and partnership with other groups in the department, statutory authorities service delivery partners, parents and families, SEPS works as a catalyst to drive improved professional practice.
About the Role
The position provides high-level executive support to the Deputy Secretary and Office of the Deputy Secretary, as well as the provision of strategic support across administrative operations across the School Education Programs and Support Group.
Working closely in a small team consisting of a Senior Advisor and Executive Coordinator, the Executive Assistant is responsible for managing the diary of the Deputy Secretary, organisation and coordination of meetings and meeting papers, managing a shared inbox, drafting internal communications, and correspondence and record keeping.

This role will su it an experienced Executive Assistant who is a logical thinker and effective problem-solver, with a proven track record of providing high-quality administrative support to executives. The position requires the successful applicant to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will constantly look for continuous improvement opportunities and ways to innovate as well as monitoring client and stakeholder satisfaction.
