The Department of Government Services (DGS) was established on 1 January 2023 to improve everyone's experience of doing business and interacting with the Victorian government. We bring important day-to-day services together in one department to make things easy and seamless for Victorians and businesses. We are doing this by connecting and digitising our systems and platforms across state and local government as well as streamlining our corporate and procurement services.
About the role
This is a Fixed term, full-time position for 36 months.

The VPS4 Evaluation and Performance Officer will support teams across DGS to generate high quality data and insights that strengthen program effectiveness and efficiency. The role involves contributing to the design and delivery of evaluations, analysing large data sets, and assisting in the development of monitoring and data collection frameworks. You will apply qualitative and quantitative methods to assess program implementation and performance, producing clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations. The role also supports the preparation of external evaluation briefs and, where appropriate, helps teams engage with external evaluators.
We are seeking candidates with experience in data analysis, modelling, evaluation, program design or administration, with an understanding of Victorian public sector and government processes highly desirable. You will join a small, dynamic team that values your analytical data expertise and works closely with staff across DGS at both program and operational levels.

Qualifications
A tertiary qualification in evaluation, social or behavioural sciences, economics, public policy/administration or related field is desirable.
Specialist expertise
Experience applying statistical and modelling techniques to support evaluation projects and evidence-based policy is highly desirable.
