Nullawarre and District Primary School is seeking a motivated and practical individual to support the general upkeep, maintenance, and minor improvements of our school facilities and grounds. This is a hands-on role requiring initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
The successful applicant will ensure that the school's physical environment is safe, clean, functional, and welcoming for students, staff, and the wider community. The role includes general repairs, grounds care, and basic improvement projects.
An interest in working with students on small hands-on projects that promote life skills would be highly regarded (but not essential).
Perform routine maintenance and repairs across the school site, including basic carpentry, painting, fixing furniture, replacing fixtures, and minor plumbing or electrical tasks (non-licensed).
Carry out grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing, weeding, gardening, pruning, and ensuring paths and play areas are clean and safe.
Conduct regular inspections of school facilities and report hazards, damage, or areas requiring specialist repair.
Assist with set-up and pack-down of school events, furniture relocations, and deliveries.
Monitor and maintain basic tools, equipment, and materials in a safe and organised manner.
Ensure compliance with OHS procedures and contribute to a safe working environment.
Communicate regularly with the principal and administration staff regarding tasks, priorities, and emerging maintenance issues.
(Optional) Support small groups of students in basic hands-on projects that promote responsibility, teamwork, and life skills (e.g. gardening, painting, simple repairs).
Individuals with the aptitude, experience and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position.

Nullawarre and District Primary School is a small, friendly rural school located in south-west Victoria, approximately 30 minutes from Warrnambool and nestled along the Great Ocean Road region.
