The VCAA is a statutory body responsible to the Victorian Minister for Education, serving both government and non-government schools. We provide high quality curriculum, assessment and reporting for all Victorian students birth to 18 years.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Corporate Services Division in the ICT Branch for a Fixed-term full-time position.
Role Purpose
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise architecture that enables the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) to deliver trusted, contemporary and secure digital services. The role provides strategic leadership across business, information, application and technology architecture, ensuring ICT investments align with organisational priorities, VCAA and departmental platforms, whole-of-government direction and the VCAA ICT Strategy and roadmap.
Working across complex business and technology environments, the Enterprise Architect develops enterprise architecture strategies, principles, standards and roadmaps that guide technology decisions and support sustainable digital transformation. The role provides architecture governance and assurance across major programs and projects, ensuring solutions are fit-for-purpose, interoperable, secure, scalable and aligned with enterprise objectives.
The Enterprise Architect works collaboratively with executives, business stakeholders, project teams, solution architects and external partners to analyse business capabilities, identify opportunities for improvement, reduce technology risk and enable informed investment decisions. Through a strong focus on business value, innovation and continuous improvement, the role supports the delivery of modern, resilient and customer-focused services.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Enterprise Architect who combines strategic thinking with deep technical knowledge and the ability to influence complex organisational change. You will have demonstrated experience developing enterprise architecture across business, information, application and technology domains while building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
You will be recognised for your ability to analyse complex business challenges, develop pragmatic technology strategies and provide clear, evidence-based advice that supports executive decision-making.
