THE ROLE
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving the Department's enterprise architecture across business, data, application, and technology domains and creates value through a practical and pragmatic architecture that enables supports real world delivery. The role provides authoritative architectural leadership that connects the Department's strategic objectives to its technology investments, capability development, and operational model, ensuring that architectural decisions are coherent, interoperable, and aligned to whole-of-Victorian-government (WoVG) policy and frameworks. The DFFH Enterprise Architect is also responsible for contributing to and shaping WoVG architecture strategies and plans.
Operating at the intersection of strategy, policy, and technology, the Enterprise Architect engages extensively with senior executives, business owners, program architects, delivery teams, and external partners including central agencies, shared service providers, and industry vendors. The role achieves outcomes primarily through influence, trusted advisory relationships, and the development of authoritative architecture artefacts, principles, and standards. The Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in shaping and maintaining the Department's strategic future state architecture and working collaboratively with delivery teams to drive incremental realisation and respond to practical learnings.
