Our Treehouse4Two program is a new funded program that helps improve the lives of people living with Dementia and their carers by increasing early access to respite and support services.
The role of Engagement Facilitator is pivotal to ensure the individual needs of participants living with dementia are met in the context of a small group setting while the carers are in education sessions.
This role delivers a program of wellbeing and learning sessions including topics about dementia, ways to maintain physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing, grief and loss, self-care and other resources/supports available; and encourages peer learning, the sharing of stories and experiences through open and supportive discussions and reminiscence.
The role links with the Carer Education Facilitator to ensure continuity of support approaches for the person living with dementia and is a role model for carers of appropriate communication and behavior.
