All whilst living in a coastal regional city considered Australia's most liveable regional city with an easy commute to work?
At South West Health care we see the full range of clinical presentations from neonates to geriatrics including critically unwell patients and road, agricultural and sporting trauma. High FACEM to trainee ratios support development of your clinical skills including procedures and ultrasound with multiple opportunities to manage acutely unwell patients prior to local admission or transfer to metropolitan referral centres. Small trainee numbers means frequent procedural and leadership opportunities with support from FACEMs on site 17 hours/day. Enjoy excellent relationship with inpatient services which facilitates teamwork and quality patient care.
ACEM trainees at all training stages are well supported with weekly protected teaching program and exam preparation programs for exam both locally and across the region including free access to Fellowship written and primary preparation courses with EM Mastery. With a new ED opening in 2027 there are many opportunities to be involved in developing and implementing innovative models of care. TS4 trainees are provided protected clinical support time for completion of ACEM requirements and have reduced nights shifts and flexible rostering as in-charge with direct FACEM support plus option to be first on-call to facilitate transition to consultant. For those earlier in training enjoy early access to anaesthetics to build your procedural skills and confidence in the management of critically unwell patients and a supported process to working as nights in charge.
