About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Industry Education and Guidance, the Education Manager is responsible for the strategic development, leadership and oversight of training, licensing assessment, and apprenticeship safety programs for electrical workers in Victoria.
You will contribute to:
- Lead, mentor and manage the Education team, setting the strategic direction for education-related initiatives, ensuring alignment with regulatory strategy and safety outcomes, and fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and
professional development.
- Lead and oversee the electrical licensing assessment regime in Victoria, including chairing the Licensing Assessment Steering Committee.
- Monitor and evaluate the licensing assessments using data and other intelligence to maintain an ongoing cycle of review and improvement, to ensure the licensing assessments remain current, relevant and fit for purpose.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve apprentice safety, reduce barriers to completion and ensure apprentices are well supported. Influence employers, RTOs and other stakeholders to improve licensing and safety outcomes. Lead or participate in Energy Safe and other government projects or programs to improve apprentice safety.
- Assist in leading the ongoing implementation, maintenance, audit and evaluation of CPD training for Licensed Electrical Workers in Victoria.
- Represent Energy Safe and/or the Electrical Regulatory Authorities Council (ERAC) on training advisory committees, or other state and national
committees as required. Provide expert advice and technical input into the development and review of national and state-based training packages and assessment tools, including international trades recognition assessments.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to a broad range of industry stakeholders, ensuring resources are relevant, accessible, and inclusive.
- Liaise with and provide advice and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders in relation to regulatory, training, and licencing assessment matters.
- Lead or participate in a variety of special projects such as, but not limited to, training events for licensed electrical workers
- Current Licensed Electrical Inspector's Licence in the state of Victoria or equivalent, or willingness to obtain (Desired)
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Vocational/Adult Education or willingness to undertake, or relevant industry experience (Desired)
- Current electrician's licence in the State of Victoria or equivalent.
- Current Certificate IV qualification in Training and Assessment.
