SC 1 Demonstrated high-level competency in and understanding of the Department of Education¿s technical systems such as Student Resource Package, Recruitment Online, EduPay, Workers Compensation, SLP, CASES21 Finance and Admin, Compass, and EduSafe.
SC 2 Sound understanding of school governance, compliance, and reporting requirements, including relevant legislation, such as OHS, Facilities (AIMS/ESM), EduSafe, EduPay, staffing policy, and financial compliance.
SC 3 Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop Education Support staff by building team capacity, facilitating professional development and performance review processes. Proven capability to foster a positive and productive working environment aligned with school priorities.
SC 4 High level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including staff, students, families, School Council members, external service providers, and the wider school community.
SC 5 Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development and implementation of school strategic planning, financial oversight. A proactive, solutions-focused approach to aligning operational processes with the schools strategic direction and goals.
SC 6. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and ensure smooth day-to-day school operations. Proven capacity to take initiative and provide leadership as part of a cohesive team.
Attendance is required during school holiday periods.
A Business Manager role will usually undertake tasks that impact on the whole school. The role seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, finance or human resources.
Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved. This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy. Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.
Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility. Staff management issues will be resolved with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases. Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice in matters relating to the school finance, human resources or school administration.
