Hughesdale Primary School was established in 1924 and is located in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne within the City of Monash. Our motto Aim High is reflected in the partnership between students, staff and parents. In 2025, our school caters for approximately 550 students within a 25 classroom model. We have 4 specialist teaching areas; Languages (French), Performing Arts (Drama & Music), Visual Arts and PE.
The Professional Learning Communities (PLC) model is implemented across each year level team supporting interrogation of student achievement data to inform teaching through and regular inquiry cycles. All members of staff are required to be life-long learners with the development of whole school pedagogy a priority for the teaching teams. Staff are supported by Learning Specialists and leaders who attend PLC planning sessions. The school has a strong focus on differentiation, personalised goal setting and rigour, to ensure all students are reaching their maximum potential.

A Business Manager role will usually undertake tasks that impact on the whole school. The role seeks to gain cooperation of other staff members or members of the school community to achieve specific objectives, such as in school administration, finance or human resources.
Direction on targets and goals is provided but the position will have some degree of latitude in determining how they are achieved. This latitude will generally be limited by standard procedures and school policy. Deviation from standard procedures and school policy will require guidance and direction from senior management.
Management of staff to achieve the expected outcomes is a key responsibility. Staff management issues will be resolved with minimal reference to senior management, although guidance will be required in more complex cases. Senior management will be provided with timely reports and advice in matters relating to the school finance, human resources or school administration.
