KSC-1 Demonstrated knowledge of visual practices and materials with the ability to support the delivery of the school based visual arts curriculum. Experience assisting teachers and students in practical art activities, including preparation, use and safe handling of art materials, tools and equipment.
KSC-2 Demonstrated ability to support teachers in the implementation of the Visual Arts curriculum, including assisting with lesson preparation, setting up and packing away the art room and supporting students during practical and creative activities with the ability adapt support to suit different age levels and individual learning needs.
KSC-3 Demonstrated capacity to work effectively with students, including those with diverse learning needs to encourage engagement, creativity and positive participation in visual arts learning. Ability to provide appropriate guidance while fostering independence, confidence and safe work practises.
KSC-4 Demonstrated high level communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, education support staff, students and the wider Nepean School community.
KSC-5 Demonstrated organisational skills, including the ability to manage art resources, maintain equipment, prepare materials in advance and assist with displays and exhibitions.
Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Nepean School, located in Seaford, is an innovative educational choice offering individualised learning for students with physical disabilities and complex health impairments. We currently have 138 students enrolled at Nepean School.
Our transdisciplinary teams work collaboratively with families to identify learning priorities, set goals and develop individualised learning plans for every student.
The transdisciplinary teams at Nepean consist of teachers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, registered nurses (RN1), and music therapists, who work together to design and implement engaging learning programs for all students.
These active partnerships ensure every child has the very best opportunity to reach their potential. Our transdisciplinary teams walk beside the student and their family on their learning journey, celebrating each achievement and success.
We provide comprehensive Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) for students at all stages of learning, from level A through to VET programs. Nepean School uses the Victorian Curriculum to develop learning experiences at each student's stage of learning. The Nepean School Goal Bank is also used to break down learning goals and identify supports the student may need to reach their goal. Our students have the opportunity to engage in learning across all curriculum areas including English, Mathematics, Information & Communication Technology, History, Geography, Personal & Social Learning, Health & PE, The Arts, Life Skills, Community Skills, Civics & Citizenship, Design Creativity and STEM program (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths).
