SC1. Relevant critical experience and knowledge of paediatric OT and its implementation in a school setting, along with experience and knowledge in supporting teaching teams to develop and deliver inclusive classroom practices.
SC2. Demonstrated capacity to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based therapy programs and interventions both individual and group to support students with physical, sensory, emotional, or organisational challenges
SC3. Demonstrates excellence in oral and written communication, including developing relevant evidence-based goals for students to inform Individual Education Plans and other support plans.
SC4. Demonstrated high-level communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with teachers, school leaders, allied health professionals, students, and families, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
SC5. Demonstrated experience and capability to plan, implement, and support adjustments for students identified for the Disability Inclusion Model, including developing support plans for Disability Inclusion profile meetings.
This position is for one day per week.
Range 4 is distinguished by broader management responsibility, particularly in the areas of finance, human resource and other support functions. Range 4 is responsible for managing a range of functions under a wide range of conditions, subject to the size and complexity of school operations.
Objectives will, generally, be clearly defined; guidelines will be broad and day-to-day direction minimal. Management responsibility extends to ensuring appropriate support levels are maintained across the school. Range 4 generally provides key support and timely advice to the leadership team and school council and liaises with the general school community, the Department and other government agencies and service providers.
Specialised professional roles will carry a high level of independence and accountability where suitable scope is provided to achieve objectives.
An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students, but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee¿s position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.

Westgarth Primary School is located in the inner-city suburb of Northcote approximately eight kilometres north of the city. The school was founded in 1924 and is located on two adjacent sites. The Prep-2 classes and administration centre are located at the Brooke Street site and the 3 ¿ 6 classes and most specialist facilities are located on the Clarke St site.
Buildings include refurbished open planned learning spaces, studio learning spaces, modular five portables, a kitchen garden centre and STEM centre. A new full-sized gymnasium and second storey classroom building with an under croft for undercover play, was completed in 2025. School grounds include a kitchen garden, playgrounds at both sites, inclusive playground on the Brooke St site and areas for passive play and seating.
