SC 3. Comprehensive skills in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel and sound knowledge of Compass, Career Tools and VASS.
SC4.Demonstrated capacity to build productive relationships with key stakeholders within the school, across the education sector, and wider community to provide organisational benefit to careers programs.
SC4.Demonstrated capacity to coordinate VDSS, administer work experience, and vocational assessment programs, including relevant software packages.
SC5.Demonstrated capacity to perform duties consistent with established guidelines and frameworks, including coordinating and supporting others in respect to specific work functions relevant to the role.
This role provides professional career advice to students, coordinates student participation in VET and undertakes the VET VASS coordination within the school.
A formal qualification in careers counselling is a requirement of this role. A successful applicant who does not already possess such a qualification would be expected to work towards gaining a qualification as soon as practical.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate the VDSS program, including but not limited to:
Provide VDSS program advice to students during subject selection
Manage the enrolment process including internally and externally via cluster portals
Monitor students' attendance and progress
Prepare a weekly report of attendance and AROF and liaise with YLC¿s when required
Liaise with trainers, students and parents when required.
Manage VET administration, including but not limited to:
Liaise with cluster and TAFE's and attend meetings and PD when required.
VET purchasing contacts and invoices.
Distribution of progress and semester reports
Keep up to date enrolment information and distribute it to relevant sub schools.
Keep accurate records, including students undertaking scored assessments
VET VASS Coordinator
Ensure accurate VASS enrolment, UOC data and indicative grades information is entered onto VASS, in accordance with VASS deadlines
Liaise with external stakeholders in a professional and timely manner to ensure deadlines are met
Ensure a sound understanding of VCE VASS and act as a backup to the VCE VASS coordinator if required
Attend PD when required
Coordinate the My Career Insights, Morrisby Program for all Year 9 students:
Liaise with external and internal stakeholders, including My Career Insights program coordinator.
Coordinate profiling and consultations of all Year 9 students
Communicate with students and families.
Keep up to date new student enrolment data for the purpose of profiling
Ensure EAL students and DI students are supported
Careers Advising
Manage the Career Referral process, including but not limited to:
Prepare a referral report for the team leader weekly
Triage referrals and schedule appointments
Keep up to date case notes regarding student referrals and outcomes
Liaise with relevant staff the outcome of referrals
Conduct career advice sessions with students and parents if required
Refer to internal and external support services when required
Assist in ensuring all Year 7 - 12 students complete a Career Action Plan, including supporting DI and wellbeing students with personalised plans
Provide information and advice to Years 9 ¿ 11 students during subject selection
Assist students to develop resumes, job applications, and interview skills.
Conduct 1:1 pathway planning sessions with Year 12 students, including:
University and TAFE applications
SEAS applications
Scholarship applications
Apprenticeship/Traineeship applications
Change of preference meetings
Assist with implementing the Work Experience Program, including but not limited to:
Liaising with external businesses and LLEN.
Assisting with the placement of students.
Ensuring the administration process is adhered to.
Organising scheduled visits to students on placement.
Maintaining a database of employers suitable to support a Work Experience program
Monitoring the destination and pathways information of all compulsory and noncompulsory aged students who leave the school
Ensure DE requirements are met
Complete VELCI referrals and follow up outcomes
Record accurate destination data and communicate with enrolments officer to ensure accurate information is recorded on Cases 21
Communication
Assist in organising the production of relevant information and publicity for careers programs to staff, students and parents, including weekly Careers News and internal end of term newsletter
