The school is located in an established residential area eight kilometres north of Melbourne, servicing a community which reflects the diversity of Australian society.
The school population is currently 461 students. The school has received close to 20 million dollars in capital works funding over the last few year and has had upgrades to existing classrooms in addition to new learning spaces, including a STE(A)M specialist centre. The school provides a mix of traditional and flexible, open learning spaces and well-developed outdoor areas. The community is diverse with 39 languages spoken at the school. The age and experience profile of staff reflects the employment of a number of graduate staff in recent years, to compliment and be mentored by more experienced staff.
The school offers a comprehensive curriculum (Victorian Curriculum) with specialist classes in LOTE (Italian), visual/performing arts and PE, complemented with targeted intervention and enrichment programs. We aim to improve the achievement levels of all students and cohorts through continuing to raise expectations and standards of learning. Teachers undertake continuous targeted assessment and use student learning data to inform their planning, teaching decisions and reporting. Teachers plan in teams and the whole team has a joint responsibility for the learning of all students in their cohort. Literacy and numeracy are the heart of the school priorities. There is a school wide emphasis on 21st Century learning skills using digital technologies, inquiry and STE(A)M as integral drivers.
Students in Grade 3-6 have 1:1 Interactive Devices (BYO program with specified device), Prep to Grade 2 students will have the use of school owned ipads/surface go¿s.
