As part of the Victorian Government’s response to recommendations from the Great Outdoors Taskforce and Eminent Panel for Community Engagement, the District Forest & Fire Planning Officer will manage or support the delivery of forest recreation and tourism investment within their District.
The focus of this position will be to support planning and delivery of forest recreation maintenance and improvement programs to ensure high quality forest recreation sites, tracks, trails and facilities are made available to visitors. This position will work closely with District, Regional and Statewide teams to ensure planning and delivery is informed by local knowledge and aligns with strategic priorities.
This position requires a person with a good knowledge of forest recreation and experience in planning and delivering recreation (or similar) asset maintenance and improvement programs.

This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2028. The work location for this position is Flexible within Macalister District (part of Gippsland Region) with hybrid work arrangements available.
