The Opportunity:
The Student Engagement and Equity Department at Holmesglen is dedicated to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and collaborative educational environment where every student feels valued. The department promotes a vibrant student life and advocates for the diverse needs of students, offering key services such as disability support and programs for First Nations students. Focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion, the department also leads strategic initiatives that amplify student voices and ensure meaningful student partnerships throughout their journey at the Institute.
The Disability Liaison Officer plays a critical role in promoting inclusive education by working in partnership with students and academic staff to identify individual learning support needs. The position is responsible for assessing and coordinating reasonable adjustments and support strategies with students living with disability or chronic health conditions, ensuring equitable access to learning and participation. Additionally, the role contributes to the development and review of internal policies and procedures to align institutional practices with relevant legislation, standards, and government requirements.
