Colac Secondary College is seeking an experienced and highly relational Disability Inclusion Counsellor ¿ Student Regulation & Inclusion to join our Disability Inclusion and student support team.
The position will provide targeted counselling, emotional regulation and inclusion support for students with disability and additional needs. The successful applicant will work directly with students, families and staff to strengthen students' capacity to regulate, engage in learning, build positive relationships and participate successfully in school.
The role will provide individual and small-group therapeutic and skill-building interventions while also contributing to the school's Disability Inclusion Profile (DIP) processes, Individual Education Plans (IEPs), Student Support Groups (SSGs), reasonable adjustments and development of individual regulation and support plans.
The position will work collaboratively with the Disability Inclusion Leader, Wellbeing and Engagement Team, teaching staff, school leadership, families, allied health professionals and external agencies.
This is not primarily a classroom-based Education Support position. The successful applicant will provide a professional student support service with a high level of autonomy within established school and Department policies, procedures and professional boundaries.
