Director, VET Systems Management and Reform
The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (the department) is seeking to appoint a Director, VET Systems Management and Reform (VSMR) to join its team. This role involves leading the design, delivery and continuous improvement of critical Vocational Education and Training (VET) business systems, while driving major ICT and data reform initiatives that support policy implementation, funding integrity and service performance.
The Training Operations and Assurance (TOA) branch maintains and promotes a quality training system through administration of VET Funding Contracts and grants, provides engagement and assurance activity, and stewardship of Skills and TAFE data governance and business systems.
Reporting to the Executive Director, TOA, the Director, VSMR will provide strategic and authoritative leadership across complex ICT programs and system reforms, oversee governance, assurance and risk management frameworks, manage significant budgets and vendor arrangements, and build strong relationships across government, regulators, providers and national bodies to support integrated, system-wide outcomes.
The successful candidate will be a strategic and influential leader with strong ICT and data capability, excellent judgement, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a complex operating environment.
