The Opportunity
The Director, Transmission, Planning and Operations is a senior leadership position in the Strategy and Planning division and is at the heart of the energy transition. The position is responsible for leading the transmission planning for the State and implementing the new Victorian Transmission Investment Framework (VTIF) to build social license and a deliverable program for transforming the electrical grid.

What you will deliver
- You will work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including DEECA, AEMO, industry and community to develop strategic, tactical and investment plans
- You will lead the development of the Victorian Transmission Plan, including setting key parameters for the Victorian Access Regime and maintain and update these over time
- You will monitor and manage performance of key service agreements, ongoing performance and compliance monitoring
- You will act as a source of high quality, authoritative and strategic advice to Executive Director, Strategy and Planning team as well as other divisions across VicGrid on transmission planning
What you will bring
- Proven leadership experience in energy policy, planning or infrastructure, with a strong track record of delivering complex strategic or investment plans, preferably within the transmission sector
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, with demonstrated success building collaborative partnerships across government, industry, Traditional Owners and community groups
- Strong understanding of transmission infrastructure planning and regulatory frameworks, including the ability to provide authoritative advice and contribute to national and state-level forums
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, drive service excellence, and influence cultural and organisational outcomes in a senior leadership environment
