From the Alps to Gariwerd, Wilsons Promontory to St Kilda Pier, Parks Victoria manages some of the most spectacular parts of the state on behalf of all Victorians. Responsible for over 4 million hectares of parks and reserves, local ports and waterways that together attract more than 100 million visits annually, the organisation plays a vital role in enabling people to enjoy Victoria's great outdoors, while protecting our natural environment and cultural heritage, the things that make these places so special.
Parks Victoria is a statutory authority of the Victorian Government, and works in close partnership with Traditional Owners, communities, user groups and others to deliver positive outcomes for people, the environment and vibrant local economies. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a values-led organisation with a vital purpose, a proud legacy and a future of transformation.
About the Role
A newly created role reporting to the Executive Director Strategy and Programs, the Director Strategy and Performance will lead a new enterprise-facing function responsible for strategic planning, business improvement and performance reporting. This role will shape the 10-year strategic plan, steer the design and delivery of annual delivery plans, and drive a refreshed approach to business transformation and performance across Parks Victoria. The Director will lead the ePMO, providing strategic oversight of project delivery and governance to ensure alignment with corporate priorities, and oversee the design of enterprise reporting dashboards and tools that empower the Executive and Board with clear insights and support stronger self-service reporting across the organisation.
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced leader of strategy, performance planning and business transformation in complex organisational settings. You will bring both a strategic and tactical planning mindset, with a track record of building high-performing teams and successfully implementing change, either in the public sector or private enterprise. With a strong focus on team culture, you will build and lead a newly established directorate, bringing together strategic thinkers and delivery experts under a unified vision. Your outstanding communication and influencing skills will enable you to play a pivotal role in aligning enterprise goals, improving strategic focus and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and delivery.
This role is ideally suited to a leader who thrives in complexity and transformation and is energised by the opportunity to contribute to a values-driven organisation with bold ambitions and significant statewide impact.
