About the Business Unit
The Serious Offenders Act 2018 is a civil, non-punitive scheme that provides for the ongoing supervision or detention of serious sex and serious violent offenders who have completed their prison sentence and pose an unacceptable risk of committing further sexual or violent offences. Corrections Victoria's end-to-end management and delivery of services to serious sex and serious violent offenders on post-sentence orders occurs through a multi-faceted governance and operating model.
The Post Sentence Branch (PSB), within the Offender Services Division of Corrections Victoria, provides central oversight and governance of the post-sentence scheme and offenders subject to post sentence orders, and best practice specialised assessment and therapeutic intervention for serious sex offenders and serious violent offenders across both prison and Community Correctional Services.
About the Role
The Director, PSB is responsible for providing strategic leadership and management across the Branch and will drive the development of system-wide initiatives and service responses that enhance risk management, treatment and supervision of serious sex and serious violent offenders and ensure the ongoing ability of the PSB to respond to current and future demand.
