The Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, Project Delivery, the Director, Portfolio, Strategy and Development is responsible for the undertaking of major energy infrastructure planning studies and the preparation of business cases to ensure future VicGrid transmission projects are developed, procured and delivered efficiently and effectively. The role will proactively lead the management of design and the resolution of technical engineering issues and will be responsible for driving capacity and capability among the project development professionals.
What you will deliver
• You will lead VicGrid's strategic approach to developing and delivering the portfolio of transmission infrastructure.
• You will oversee the preparation of detailed investment cases including the process for approval with the VicGrid investment committee and board.
• You will lead strategic initiatives to enable implementation of the portfolio of works associated with industry, supply chain, program packaging and community initiatives
• You will oversee the effective use of specialist capabilities across a range of technical disciplines such as engineering, land, planning, environment, project estimating and scheduling, legal and commercial.
• You will provide authoritative advice regarding VicGrid's program to senior executives, government and private sector stakeholders to ensure an integrated and coordinated program of works.
What you will bring
• Extensive experience in the preparation of investment cases, planning, design and development for major infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams of technical subject matters experts, consistently building and delivering high performance.
• Demonstrated understanding of the development and delivery methodologies appropriate for major infrastructure projects.
• Extensive experience driving high quality outcomes, ensuring timeframes and schedules are met, where multiple stakeholders have competing demands.
