SES-1 Director Policy Advisory and School Engagement Branch
The Branch Director is the primary steward of the department's operational manual for government schools, the Policy and Advisory Library (PAL).
As part of this function, it delivers critical front line supports for schools and the department including the Principal Advisory Service, School Policy Templates Portal, School Impact Assessment Tool, Legal Compliance Directory and the Principal's Page.
The role is also responsible for key engagements and supports for schools including coordination of School Update scheduling and advice about communicating with schools, School Update Action List, End of Term Checklist, School Operations Forward Planner, Audit and Review Scheduling and Mandatory and Priority Training Planner. The Director, PASE is responsible for leading a Branch of around 16 FTE and advising on timing, impacts, co-dependencies, risks and operational impacts associated with proposed communications, engagements and new policies on schools.
In addition this role is responsible for applying significant quality assurance, risk mitigation, support requirements and red-tape reviews of all operational policies for schools.
The role requires substantial operational knowledge of government schools, policies and programs. It also requires high level stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills and demonstrated strength in leadership and change.
