The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Director, Police Policy and Crime Prevention to provide executive leadership for the Police and Community Safety portfolio.
About the Business Unit
Community Safety, Victims and Racing (CSVR) group is responsible for leading key policy reform and programs across the department. It enhances community safety and wellbeing through public policy, governance, legislative advice, reform and grants, bringing together all policy and reform functions aligned to the Police, Community Safety, Victims and Racing portfolios.
Police and Community Safety (PACS) has responsibility for police and community safety portfolios through public policy reform, governance improvements and targeted programs. The division supports the Minister for Police and the Minister for Community Safety to deliver on their portfolio responsibilities. This includes Victoria Police governance, powers and regulatory policy as well as road safety enforcement policy and the robust evidence-based road safety camera program, and work to counter violent extremism.
