About the role:
We are seeking an experienced, people-first leader to join the RMH as our Director of People & Culture. Reporting to the Chief People and Communications Officer, you will be instrumental in leading the RMH’s strategic people initiatives —shaping a values-focused, agile and engaged workforce.
This pivotal leadership role will oversee People and Culture operations, including Business Partnering and Workplace Relations, while driving cultural transformation, workforce planning and industrial relations strategies.
You will act as a trusted advisor to the Executive team and lead a team of HR professionals focusing on continuous improvement, accountability, and delivering high-impact outcomes across the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of the People & Culture strategy in alignment with RMH’s values and goals
- Drive the evolution of the people operations function, including embracing automation, high value service delivery and expert advice
- Provide strategic guidance on complex workforce, change and industrial matters
- Oversee the consistent delivery of expert P&C advice, governance, reporting and compliance
- Lead workplace culture initiatives to build a safe, inclusive and values-driven organisation
- Drive workforce planning, performance and organisational capability programs
- Foster strong partnerships with stakeholders and external industrial relations bodies
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislative, industrial and safety frameworks
About You:
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law or a related discipline.
- You are a forward-thinking professional with senior leadership experience and a proven track record in driving a positive culture and workforce performance.
- Proven expertise in employee/industrial relations and cultural change
- Strong knowledge of legislative frameworks including the Fair Work Act
- Experience leading high-performing teams and delivering complex change initiatives
- Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing and executive advisory skills
Desirable:
- Knowledge of the public health sector, including understanding of clinical environments, health workforce challenges.
