About the Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission
The Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Commission (the Commission) supports the integrity of the Victorian Parliament and promotes a respectful and safe parliamentary workplace. Established under the Parliamentary Workplace Standards and Integrity Act 2024 (Vic), we handle reports of parliamentary misconduct and provide guidance, education and training to uphold high standards across the Parliament.
Through our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, we actively promote and maintain a safe, respectful and inclusive work environment where all people are valued and supported. We welcome applications from people of all genders, ages, abilities, cultures, religions, sexual orientations and backgrounds.
About the role and team
As the Director of Operations, you will report directly to the CEO/Chair Commissioner and lead a lean, multidisciplinary team of specialists to manage the end-to-end journey of sensitive complaints and investigations.
While you are a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, your daily reality can be deeply hands-on. One day you will be setting the high-level strategy for a complex investigation; the next, you could be drafting notices, interviewing witnesses alongside the team, or personally authoring reports.
As we move from our "building" phase (14 months in) to a "running" phase ahead of the 2026 election, you will lead our operations to ensure every decision we make is intellectually rigorous, legally defensible, and trauma informed.
About you
You are a seasoned integrity professional who finds the "intellectual exercise" of complex casework more rewarding than managing large, bureaucratic hierarchies. You don't just "oversee" work; you take pride in the quality of the final product.
To thrive in this role, you will bring:
Why join us?

Because we are a small team, we strongly encourage our people to broaden their skills and provide supportive opportunities to learn about different functions across the team.
Most importantly, you'll be part of meaningful and interesting work that supports parliamentary integrity. Everything we do is grounded in the principles of integrity, independence, effectiveness, accountability, fairness, transparency, and respect and safety.
