The opportunity
The Director, Network Transformation role acts as the critical interface between transmission planning, infrastructure delivery and network operations, ensuring that new network assets and system changes can be safely, efficiently and reliably incorporated into the electricity system.
The Director is expected to demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgement and exceptional stakeholder management capability while fostering collaboration across multiple organisations operating within Victoria's evolving energy system.
What you will deliver
- Lead VicGrid's network transformation function, ensuring the successful integration of new transmission infrastructure, generation and load connections into the Victorian electricity network.
- Provide strategic advice to senior executives on emerging challenges associated with the energy transition.
- Drive alignment across network planning, project delivery and system operations, acting as the key interface to ensure a seamless transition
- Lead engagement with transmission network service providers, AEMO, project proponents and other industry participants
- Oversee the development and implementation of network operating requirements, technical specifications and operational transition plans for major transmission projects.
- Lead cross-functional teams responsible for network transformation initiatives, fostering collaboration, accountability and delivery excellence.
what you will bring
- A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline is required.
- Demonstrated experience leading transmission, distribution or electricity system projects involving network planning, network operations, system integration or major infrastructure delivery.
- Strong understanding of electricity transmission networks, power system operations and the technical requirements.
- Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders, including government, regulators, network businesses and industry participants, to enable coordinated decision-making and timely delivery of complex energy initiatives
