The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Director, Major Crime and Investigative Powers to provide executive leadership for the Integrity, Policy, Performance and Major Crime portfolio.
About the Business Unit
Justice System Coordination and Reform (JSCR) group supports the Attorney-General and department Ministers to deliver court services policy, and civil and criminal law responsibilities by providing legal, policy and stakeholder management expertise. Working collaboratively with key legal entities across the justice system and the department to ensure policy reform is strategic, relevant, holistic and people centred.
JSCR supports 28 independent legal entities across the DJCS portfolio including Victoria Legal Aid, the Law Institute of Victoria, the Office of Public Prosecutions, Courts Services Victoria, VCAT, the Coronial Council of Victoria, the Victorian Institute of Forensic Medicine, and the Magistrates, Coroners, County, Supreme, and Children's Courts.
