Wodonga Senior Secondary College is a government year 10 to 12 co-education school in the local government area of Wodonga. The College is located 1km from central Wodonga on 7.84 hectares surrounded by residential housing.
Wodonga is one of the fastest growing regional cities in Victoria with a population of 39,351. It is located 3 hours and 20 minutes from Melbourne on the Hume Hwy. History and Enrolment Trends
Wodonga Senior Secondary College was established in 2005-2006 through the regeneration of government secondary education in Wodonga. This initiative took the three existing secondary schools in the city to form one senior secondary college (10 to 12) and one Middle Years College with two campuses that specialise in the education of year 7, 8 & 9 students. Today, Wodonga Senior Secondary College and Wodonga Middle Years College work collaboratively to provide all students with every opportunity of success from 7 to Career.
Student and Community Demographics
The College currently has 1172 students. Over the last five years enrolment trends have increased. The majority of students transition from year 9 at Wodonga Middle Years College into year 10 at the Senior College. While 24 % of students are drawn from neighbouring communities (including New South Wales), Independent schools and Catholic College.
The College serves a community with socially, economically and culturally diverse needs. It actively embraces, respects and promotes the uniqueness of all students. For 3.1% of students English is their additional language and 15.9% of students are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders. The School Family Occupation (SFO) in 2018 was 0.6877. This has remained relatively consistent over the last 5 years.

The College benefits from the highly professional teaching and support staff. The majority 80% of teaching staff are highly experienced teachers. Curriculum and Specialisation
Wodonga Senior Secondary College has the broadest range of subject choices in the region across all subject areas. The College works with all students to design an individual pathway which provides them with every opportunity for success following their secondary education. VCE and VCAL are spread over two and half years at the College. Both pathways are well represented by students.
In partnership with our external Registered Trained Organisations, the College delivers a diverse range of VET Subjects. The VET program within the College has a strong reputation within the College and the community. This can be attributed to the Industry professional teaching staff, high quality facilities and supportive placement host from industry.

Position Overview
The Director of IT Services is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic and operational direction for all Information and Communication Technology (ICT) services across a multi-campus, multi-school network comprising seven campuses located in Wodonga, Shepparton, Benalla, and Seymour. The role supports a community of over 2,300 students and more than 430 staff, ensuring consistent, secure, and innovative technology services that enable excellence in teaching, learning, and administration across geographically dispersed locations.
As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of IT Services leads the planning, delivery, and continual improvement of ICT systems that underpin the organisation¿s educational and operational goals. This includes strategic oversight of network infrastructure, cloud platforms, cybersecurity, software development, digital communication tools, physical security systems (CCTV, access control, and Building Management Systems), and large-scale device management programs such as the 1:1 student notebook initiative.
The position provides expert guidance, leadership, and evidence-based decision-making to ensure ICT aligns with broader school and departmental priorities. The Director plays a pivotal role in shaping the school¿s digital future, driving innovation, supporting pedagogical change through technology, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of all technical systems.
This role also holds significant accountability for ICT budgets, staff leadership, service governance, and risk management. The Director manages and mentors a multidisciplinary ICT team across multiple locations, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and high-performance service delivery standards.
Working in close collaboration with the Executive teams and external stakeholders, the Director of IT Services ensures that technology infrastructure and systems effectively support school operations, comply with Department of Education standards, and are designed to meet both current and emerging needs. The position contributes to major building and capital works projects, providing ICT design input to ensure future-ready technology integration into new or refurbished learning environments.
Role

An education support class position at level 2 will have a primary responsibility for the management of significant areas or functions within the school to support the educational services being provided to students. In exercising the responsibility an education support class position at level 2 will have the authority to make all significant decisions relating to the program, budget and staff relating to their area of designated responsibility within the framework of the school's strategic plan, policies and budget but must not include duties of teaching as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor.
Supervision of students cannot be required except where it is an integral part of the employee's position or involves supervision of students individually or in small groups, in controlled circumstances, where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
An education support class position at level 2 will contribute to the overall management of the school through involvement in policy formulation and decision making.

Oversee the design, deployment, and ongoing management of ICT systems across seven campuses, ensuring performance, reliability, and security:
Manage network infrastructure, servers, cloud services, and end-user device environments (staff and student).
Maintain high service levels for digital learning platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Office 365, SharePoint, and OneDrive).
Oversee telephony systems (landline, mobile, and VoIP) and audiovisual systems across all locations.
Ensure systems integration, standardisation, and interoperability across geographically dispersed sites.
Develop and maintain ICT policies, disaster recovery procedures, and system documentation in line with Department of Education standards.
Lead a team of internal and/or contracted developers in delivering custom digital software solutions supporting educational and operational outcomes..
Oversee lifecycle management of applications supporting school operations and educational delivery.
Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
Evaluate new software solutions to improve workflow efficiency, reporting, and digital learning practices.
Manage and monitor integrated security systems including:
CCTV monitoring systems
Electronic access control
Building Management Systems (BMS)
Ensure alignment with health and safety and Departmental policy.
Collaborate with facilities teams and external contractors during building projects to ensure ICT infrastructure and systems are integrated effectively into new or refurbished spaces.
Provide ICT input into design and planning phases of capital works, ensuring alignment with long-term technology strategy
Lead digital communication initiatives across the school community to enhance collaboration and information sharing.
Support digital learning practices and collaboration via Teams, Office 365, and other platforms.
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including DET technical support teams, vendors, and service providers.
Oversee the rollout, configuration, asset management, and lifecycle of 1:1 student notebooks across all school sites.
Manage warranty and insurance claim processes, ensuring minimal downtime for students.
Coordinate and supervise an onsite repair service operated by school-based technical staff, covering:
Initial fault diagnosis
Hardware repair or replacement under warranty
Coordination of insurance-based repairs
Maintenance of accurate service records and inventory tracking
Ensure that repair turnaround times meet service level expectations and support continued student access to learning.
Liaise with external vendors and manufacturers for complex escalations or parts procurement.
Manage ICT operational and project budgets.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate performance of IT and technical staff.
Develop and implement policies and standards for ICT service delivery and governance
