About the role:
The Director, Health Service Performance Oversight provides senior leadership of a system-wide approach to health service performance leadership and coordination. Acting as a visible and trusted interface with Victorian hospitals and health services, the role leads strategic engagement on performance priorities and key agreements.
The role involves developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including health service Chief Executive Officers, health service executives and a range of program and policy areas within the department.
This position is responsible for establishing and leading the Health Service Performance Oversight unit, ensuring integration of performance assessments across domains, overseeing formal service assessment and tiering, and driving targeted improvement initiatives informed by data and productivity opportunities. It also leads the Accountability and Guidelines team to deliver the development, approval, and publication of major agreements and guidelines, and contributes to the longer-term strategic direction for future arrangements.
