About the role:
The Director, Health Service Interface, Collaboration and Maternity is responsible for strengthening the Department's strategic partnerships with public health services across metropolitan, rural and regional Victoria, while leading statewide maternity, newborn and fertility policy, performance and reform initiatives. The role provides stewardship, oversight and system leadership to support safe, high, quality, integrated and sustainable health services and ensure local system intelligence informs statewide policy, funding and service design decisions.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Health Service Interface and Collaboration, the Director leads multidisciplinary teams that work collaboratively with health services and sector partners to identify emerging issues, address complex challenges improvements, and deliver high-priority projects that support the health and wellbeing of Victorians. OFFICIAL The Director performs a critical leadership role in coordinated engagement, oversight and targeted improvement activities across Victoria's public health services. As the departments senior relationship lead for health services, the Director builds trusted partnerships, facilitates collaboration and works with health services to resolve strategic and operational issues.
The Director also leads statewide policy, reform, improvement and partnership initiatives across birthing, maternity and newborn services including the public fertility program, to improve equity, access, safety and outcomes for Victorian women, babies and families.
To be successful in this role, you will be an accomplished health system leader with demonstrated experience operating in complex environments and building productive relationships with diverse stakeholders. You will bring strategic insight, sound judgement, and the ability to provide authoritative advice in high-pressure, fast-moving contexts. Combining strong analytical capability with a collaborative and adaptable approach, you will lead high-performing teams to strengthen the department's stewardship of a safe, high-quality and integrated health system.
