Work Type: Fixed-term - Full-time
Salary: $232,790 - $298,488
Grade: VPS SES1
Occupation: Leadership and management
Location: Melbourne - CBD and Inner Metro suburbs
Reference: VG/DH/HV/719519
About the role:
The Director, HFB Taskforce leads a small, high-performing team to oversee delivery of the suite of savings initiatives approved by Health Finance Board and Cabinet. Actual delivery of the initiatives remains the responsibility of specific DH divisions, therefore this role must operate in a highly collaborative and networked manner – influencing and overseeing the work of peers and stakeholders. The Director will need to ensure that all initiatives are managed as a cohesive and coordinated portfolio of work, rather than disconnected activities.
The role will require regular reprioritisation of activities and managing competing priorities through effective communication and risk management. Effective communication of progress, risks and issues to DH's Executive Board, to central agencies and to government is critical.
The role is a great opportunity for someone to demonstrate and build on the full set of public sector leadership skills, including collaborating and influencing across agencies, driving and reporting on performance and managing financial and reputation risk. The role will grant exposure to senior stakeholders and decision-makers, and give good view of health system priorities and issues.
