Resources Victoria is currently seeking a Director, Geological Survey of Victoria (GSV), to lead the State's geoscience agency whose history spans over 170 years!
Reporting to the CEO, you will be an integral member of the Resource Victoria executive leadership team and responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist scientific and technical expertise to understand Victoria's geology to inform government decision making and attract new investment to the State. The Director is critical to creating partnerships with scientific organisations and increasingly important for promoting investor confidence in exploration and mining in Victoria.
As a proven leader with demonstrated experience working in complex and diverse environments, you will be a strong communicator that can build consensus at senior levels within an organisation. A key focus on delivery will stand in you good stead, along with your proven ability to find solutions and achieve results.
About the organisation
We employ approximately 6,300 staff, including around 600 seasonal staff, across more than 86 locations throughout Victoria, across energy, environment, climate action, water, agriculture, and resources portfolios.
Our challenge is to maintain Victoria's liveability, with a population expected to almost double by 2050, while responding to climate change and protecting our natural environment, infrastructure and heritage for future generations. We take a community-centred approach and involve communities and key stakeholders in decisions and policies that affect them and we collaborate across our portfolios to design and deliver services and programs.
This is a fixed-term position available for a period of up to 5 years. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson Street, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
