Director, Events and Entities
The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking to appoint a Director, Events and Entities to join its team. This role is an influential senior leader who plays a fundamental role in shaping the future of Victoria's visitor economy. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining productive relationships across the events sector, government and portfolio entities, and for leading a collaborative and supportive results-oriented team.
The Tourism, Events and Entities branch is responsible for strengthening the profile of tourism and events across government and influencing strategic reforms and economic outcomes for the sector.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Tourism, Events and Entities, the Director, Events and Entities will lead a high performing team to support the events and wider visitor economy sector adapt and grow through the development of strategic advice on opportunities and challenges. They will provide outstanding people leadership, including a commitment to developing others and fostering a positive outcome focused culture that values flexibility, agility and collaborative problem solving.
The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with knowledge and experience in the provision of strategic policy advice and delivery of government programs and initiatives.
